We are looking for staff at our Children’s Home in Ealing West London W5 5QN

Residential Support Workers Senior Support Workers and a Deputy Manager

Our home supports 16+ currently but will eventually be 8-18 year olds with EBD  it is a 3/4 bed property.
Hourly Rates
Depending on experience and qualifications

RSW £12-£13 per hour

SSW £13-£14 per hour

DM    £14-£16 per hour
 
Shift Patterns
1. Deputy Manager in our children’s homes work on shift as all other staff do, including sleeps/weekends etc so shifts are approximately 0900 – 2300 followed by a sleep-in until 0700 the next morning. However, these are subject to change to meet the needs of YP and the home.
 
RSW SSW Shift start from 5pm -9am with sleep-in from  12pm -7am. However, the shift pattern will change( as in point 1 above) in 6 months as the home is under going registration for Children’s Home.
 
Shifts are usually 1 on 2 off  £50 sleeps

Requirements of Support Worker 

Qualifications      Secondary Education

Desirable Childcare qualification Level 3 Current clean driving licence

Knowledge & Skills 

·         Ability to relate to and communicate with young people forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people

·         Awareness of young people’s needs

·         Awareness of safeguarding issues and ability to safeguard the welfare of young people

·         Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

·         Ability to work under own initiative.

·         Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.

·         Ability to work in partnership and liaise with other professionals.

·         Basic household skills

·         Ability to recognize and acknowledge training needs and respond appropriately.

·         Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviors

·         Understanding Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discriminatory Practice issues.

·      Previous experience of working within a team is a similar setting

Requirements of a Senior Support Worker

Qualifications Diploma Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent

·         Knowledge of CHR and QS

·         Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation.

·         Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues

·         Team building Skills

·         Supervision skills

·         Ability to manage teams effectively.

·         Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

·         Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour.

·         Excellent organisational skills

·         Ability to motivate and enthuse staff 

Requirements for Deputy Manager

·         Diploma L3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

·         Willingness to complete Diploma L5 L&M in H&SC

·         Knowledge of CHR 2015 and the QS

·         Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues

·         Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation

·         Team-building skills

·         Supervision skills

·         Ability to manage teams effectively.  

·         Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.  

·         Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour.

·Excellent organisational skills  12 months relevant supervisory experience


·         24 months experience of working in a residential setting with and managing challenging behaviour.
