Registered Children’s Home Manager Required for new Home in Handsworth Midlands B21

We are looking for a Children’s Home Manager to open an amazing new 3 bed Children’s Home supporting 8-18 year olds with EBD and challenging behaviours. Our home is modern and bright. The owners require someone who is enthusiastic and energetic.

An experienced DM will be considered

The team including Responsible Individual and Directors will be there with full support and encourage training qualifications and progression.

Registered Manager Skills and abilities

• Ability to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, literacy and technology skills to required standard.
• Ability to work as a team, working closely with colleagues and other agencies.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Able to work within the principles of the Children’s Act.
• Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of Child Protection Issues and Procedures.
• Sound knowledge of Children’s Homes procedures and relevant issues.
• Ability to exercise authority.
• Proven leadership and management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbally and written.

Registered Manager knowledge and experience.

• At least 1 year working experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a Registered Children’s Home where the rating of their home is good to outstanding
• A minimum of two years’ experience at senior level in a Children’s Home.
• Experience working with Children who have Mental Health, Emotional & Behavioural difficulties
• Have a very good understanding of the children’s homes regulations and quality standards, 2015
• Have good knowledge and experience working as a designated safeguarding lead in children’s residential home (s)

Registered Manager qualifications

• The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peoples Services (or you are willing to work towards this) Or NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care (Children’s Pathway) combined with a Leadership and Management Qualification
