Clinical Lead Nurse with UK travel based in Windsor Berkshire SL4 £50-£60k
We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Clinical Lead Nurse , based at our Head Office in Windsor. However you will be required to travel .Our Organisation have many homes where we provide leadership and expertise in the delivery of complex care and education for adults and children.Travel will be required UK wide.
Requirements of Clinical Lead Nurse
You will be required to provide professional nursing and therapy leadership and advice regarding quality improvement,to individuals we support and the safety and clinical governance of all locations within the Organisation.
You will be required to demonstrate expert clinical knowledge into practice.
To work independently taking overall responsibility for care, quality, and clinical activity by providing specialist professional nursing, leadership, training and guidance including:
- The clinical safety of individuals we support ·
- The clinical and competence of healthcare professionals within the organisation
- The competence of staff who are performing delegated responsibility tasks that are clinical in nature (tier 1 and tier 2) ·
- The effectiveness of healthcare interventions ·
- That people we support experience care delivery that they would choose to have ·
- The environment in which care, education and support is delivered is safe and appropriate to the purpose of the clinical experience.
You will use your expert knowledge to develop and sustain high quality nursing and clinical practice. You will be responsible for working closely with key stakeholders at a national, regional, and service level to bring about sustained improvements in care delivery.
Job Responsibilities
01. Nursing and Therapy leadership
- Ensure the evidence base and standards of best practice inform the training, development, delivery, and improvement of nursing and clinical services, whilst creating a culture of change and innovation with regards to the nursing and allied health workforce with the aim of improving the quality of care and support to individuals.
- Provide leadership to the implementation of relevant national and corporate initiatives related to nursing and therapy to Individuals we support.
- Support the locations to ensure effective systems are in place to support robust preceptorship of newly qualified nurses and the appraisal and clinical supervision of identified nurses and therapists.
- Work alongside the Learning and Development team to support locations and their managers to ensure that nurses, managers, deputies, senior support workers and support workers’ competencies are complete and in date.
- Focus on proactive clinical risk assessments, nursing assessments, the development of clinical models, quality improvement measures, including least restriction interventions and medication management.
- Establish and facilitate regional Communities of Practice for the nursing and therapy workforce to support the sharing of good practice, dissemination of national and regional information and the implementation of organisational initiatives to support improvements for individual’s we support and care for.
- Ensure the evidence base and standards of best practice inform the training, development, delivery and improvement of nursing and therapy. Identify and initiate relevant research and audit programmes to inform improvements in practice.
- Work with the Group Quality and Governance Director to ensure that Individuals we support and family carers are involved in the development of support plans in regards to health needs and their implementation is effective.
- To contribute to the on-going assessment of needs in relation to the nursing and therapy workforce nationally in terms of numbers, skills and training requirements.
- Encourage and support the nursing and therapy workforce to share good practice within the organisation and to be an advocate of in-house training programmes where it is appropriate.
- Participate and at times lead in the nurses forum and any other clinical forums.

02. Nursing and Therapy leadership
- Secure and sustain high-quality, safe, person centred nursing and therapy care that delivers positive outcomes and promotes health and wellbeing.
- Ensuring nursing and therapy policies and procedures meet relevant legislative requirements, professional standards, policy guidance, and workforce and regulatory requirements and contribute to their review where this is required
- To provide new policies and procedures where new situations or Individuals we support have a clinical need over and above current policies and procedures.
- Support good governance across the organisation by working collaboratively ensuring opportunities for dissemination of the lessons and learning from incidents/reviews.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team and the Group Quality and Governance Director to take forward quality and safety initiatives.
- Participate in investigations and inquiries as required and agreed with the Group Quality and Governance Director.
- Undertake clinical audits as appropriate to the setting and as directed.
- To be part of the team in supporting assessments for individuals we may provide care, education and support to who may have complex Health needs
Clinical Lead Requirements
- Have experience in a senior role with current NMC registration and be looking to take the next step to as higher level clinical leadership role,or already working as a Clinical Lead
- Prior management experience, or experience of leading a small team.
- Ability to make clinical decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- A passion for promoting best nursing practice and able to train, support and mentor others.
- A desire to encourage positive working relationships within the team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A good working knowledge of audits, safeguarding, DOLS, CQC and compliance.
